What's new in the Autodesk Inventor Professional 2020 Let's take a closer look at how this release will qualitatively change the life of designers. What do I need to do to fix the import function? I heavily rely on this for collaboration and importing of models of electrical components.Excelent Deal on Inventor Professional 2020 SubscriptionĪutodesk Inventor Professional 2020 contains a complete set of flexible tools for 3D mechanical design, product analysis, tooling, custom design, and design data exchange.īuy Autodesk Inventor Professional 2020 and it helps you go beyond 3D with digital prototyping technology, based on a highly accurate 3D model! Inventor's digital prototyping technology can improve product quality, reduce development costs, and accelerate time to market. Selecting individual parts of the assembly shows a wireframe of the part. The model doesn't appear at all after import. Sometimes the behaviour is slightly different (even worse): Even a step file I have exported from Inventor 2020. This is the same if I open any of the parts in this assembly, or import a step file of a single part. I cannot select any feature, no create sketch, no measure, no direct edit. The model that is imported appears to me as useless. This is the menu presented on a RMB click. A single click on the LMB returns the model to its "home" view. If I hold the LMB down I can pivot the model. The mouse pointer is changed: it has a small view cube icon next to it, and the main view cube is not wisible in the upper right corner of the window.Ī click on the LMB sows the imported model, but the mouse pointer remains the same and the view cube is still missing. When the import finishes I'm left with an empty window. These settings look the same in Inventor 2017, but playing around with them doesn't seem to change the end result much. When I try to import the file I select 'convert model' and include solids, surfaces and wires: I have verified the file in Inventor 2017, where it imports just fine. Inventor behaves the same regardless of what file I try to import, but I have attached the file that I have used in this example. Previously I could import files and save them as parts or assemblies and use them without a hassle but now the process seems to behave completely different. I recently upgraded my Inventor from 2017 to 2020 and are now experiencing problems whenever I try to import step files.
